RECON
Below is documentation of my work from a group show titled RECON. The show opened in the Carroll Gallery located in the Woldenberg Art Center at Tulane University on August 11, 2022 running until September 19, 2022.

Larger structures are made up of smaller ones. People are the units that build up to become our community.
Beginning each page with a singular mark, these units build up to establish implied forms and spaces. It is from our roots that we all start. What comes together to shape who you are is largely the combination of your lived experiences.

Many unexpected variables come into play in our lives. In our present day the volume and range of media that we consume complicates the idea that lived experiences shape us. It may now be that a mixture of recounted experiences in the news, dramatically presented experiences in film, and falsely experienced events in video games come together with one’s lived experiences.
Across humanity’s existence people have shared experiences to inform one another. In this sense, the methods of sharing may have changed, but what has not is the deep-seated need to communicate. Each of us has our own journey to take, may mine inform yours.
